Period cramps birth control

I am 15 years old and I did live with my mom but she passed away in February and I was on birth control for my periods mainly for the cramping I was missing a lot of school but now I'm living with my dad and I want to get back on birth control because my cramps are so so bad but I don't know how to ask my dad. He is really weird about that kind of stuff and doesn't like talking about it I am his only daughter and he has 3 other boys but I don't know how to ask or what to say any suggestions?? Or should I just go and not tell him? I'm not sure what to do
