Did anyone else wait...?

Question

My husband and I went to the doctor yesterday to talk medical planning for Baby M, due 24th December. The doctor did a blood test, which we get the results in a couple of days.

For the ultrasound, however, he said we could do an early one at eight weeks if we wanted, but unless we have any worries about the baby, there's not much point because we won't see much, so may as well wait until the 12-week mark.

I actually wasn't that excited about getting an early ultrasound, so we've decided to wait until June to see our baby for the first time.

Anyone else waiting a bit longer for the first ultrasound? Feels like a marathon version of the tww! XD

I am getting an early 6 week scan and every two weeks after due to a missed miscarriage in September ... I like the idea of waiting but I need to know for peace of mind.

Last year our son was born silent at 37 weeks. The umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck. I wish they would have done more ultrasounds because it would have increased the chance of catching it. We just found out this week we are 6 weeks pregnant and this new doctor is going to be doing lots of ultrasounds to watch real careful. Based on our experience I highly recommend getting an ultrasound when it is available. It is better to know as much as you can. I know the feeling of wanting to be as healthy as possible when you are pregnant and that is what i did with my first pregnancy and i still lost my baby boy. I miss him every day. Trust me.....please have the ultrasound. It checks the blood flow of the uterus and the umbilical cord.

We have to wait until 12 weeks. In the UK you only get two scans, at 12 weeks and 20 weeks. If there's any complications you do get extra ones where needed though.

I would rather wait til 12 weeks. I always get one at 8 weeks, and your Dr. is right ..not a whole lot to see. 12 weeks is pretty awesome because you can see limbs, amd fingers and toes, and they mive around a lot!

I want to wait until at least 10 weeks. If it it was up to me I wouldn't have an ultrasound at all... A British study shows the ultrasound is as loud as a subway train to a fuller term baby... Also I am all organic. I don't want anything unnatural to happen to my body while I'm pregnant... Is it possible to not get an ultrasound?

I'm waiting until about 12 weeks. I wanted to do a first trimester screening for genetic testing and my doctor said that if I wanted another ultrasound it would only be a week before then anyway. But she said levels looked good and there wasn't a reason to do anything further.

I didn't wish I had tho I hate being high risk  running a week behind now and stressing for most possibly no reason

I had my first appointment at 5 weeks 4 days and my next one right before I'm 8 weeks! We find out the gender at 10 weeks!! 👶🏼❤️
