Dealing with Life and PMS

When I get PMS, like many women, I get super depressed and super irritated and feel sick at times! And this is quite literally half of the time. I've tracked my PMS symptoms starting the second week AFTER my period ENDS. Therefore, I feel only good during the period and during my most fertile time. Does anyone know if this is due to a biological advantage??
So, I always feel like I should be living in a hole in the ground for those two weeks of the month before my period just so things don't go south in my life for me due to my PMS. Anyone else feel this way?? What do you do (besides medication/hormones) to deal with having borderline social anxiety and feeling such negative things when you're going through life as "normally" as possible?
