It can definitely help, just make sure to pay in time every month. Also, if you have any credit unions in your area, they will likely be your best bet for a good interest rate. Don't let the dealership talk you into using one of the banks they use until you have shopped around. Sometimes the rate will be just as good, but they get a kickback for getting ppl financed through their approved lenders.

When you consistently pay off the debt, it shows that you are reliable & low-risk for loans. (Which is super important & helpful when getting other loans, especially when applying for a mortgage.)
