Anyone have an OB that won't check?

I've been having some extreme pressure since about 35 weeks (I'm now 37 weeks) I mentioned last week that I was having this issue, and cramping. One of my doctors (I see a team of 4) told me it was because I was dialating and probably effacing and only measured fundal height. When I asked them to check, they told me they don't check until about 38 weeks or more. I'm a high risk pregnancy and had issues with preterm labor. Shouldn't they at least check my cervix? Ugh lol rant over.
