I am trying to finalize our baby registry this week. What is the best infant car seat and the best convertible car seat?

We bought a Chicco key fit 30 for a travel system, & registered for a Chicco Next fit. I looked at a lot of car seats, & I loved the ratings, as well as how padded they are. They don't just feel like hard plastic with a thin cover. Probably the best bang for your buck, but if you want higher end safety for a convertible, the Diono car seats are great.

I decided to go with the Chicco KeyFit 30 and the Bravo Travel System and the Chicco Nextfit Convertsble car seat. Both came highly recommended from friends. Two of my nurse friends swear by Chicco for safety too and said their hospitals recommend Chicco car seats to parents.

Infant- I really love the Chicco key fit 30 and for convertible I HIGHLY recommend the Clek Fllo! It can rear face up to 50lbs (safest way for babies/toddlers to ride) and it has an anti-rebound bar which makes it even safer.

Chicco key fit 30 along with the bravo travel system (stroller is convertible 3 ways and folds up SO easily with one hand). As far as convertible carseat for later one, I'm not sure now. I had an Eddie Bauer for my first son who's 8 now which worked super duper well, but they don't make the same kind I had for him anymore

I like the Graco snugride 35 XL .. and the new Graco extend to fit is amazing .. can rear face up to 50 lbs and gives 5 extra inches of leg room so you never have to worry that their legs are in the wrong position .. also registered for the Chicco next fit zip!

I registered for the Chicco Keyfit 30. It's rated #1 in consumer reviews and is also super safe. Researchers say that infant seats are better for infants than convertible seats, even though they can accommodate infants, because they are designed more specifically for their little bodies. And the Chicco Keyfit is super easy to install and has a click in base. This was a huge selling point for us because then we don't have to buy two car seats, one for each car or move it each time we switch cars. We just have to get an extra base for the car seat to click into. 
As for the stroller, I registered for the baby jogger City Mini GT. They make adapters so it will fit any car seat and it is easy to maneuver. Plus it goes up to 65 pounds so baby should out grow the stroller before we would need to buy another. I definitely recommend a jogger. Even though they are pricier, they are totally worth it. Oh, and they have rubber wheels, which grip better and the one we chose has foam filled wheels, so no flats.
