It is also very painful when they rupture and it can cause spotting in between periods (pink or brown) They are common and some doctors even say normal and go away between 1-3 cycles in most cases, there are different Types of cyst and can be can cancerous but it's rare (but reproductive Health in women is a rising issue because of excess hormones disrupting out martial balance from food and etc). If your periods are painful also get checked for fibroids (growths on the uterine wall) and a condition called endometriosis (thickening of the uterus.) life sucks when your reproductive system is out of order.
