Epidural should I take or skip it?

I'm 37 weeks first time mommy and debating if I should take the epidural or not? I would prefer to skip it but am afraid labor would be too painful. Would love to hear about your experience, thanks :)

Decide when your in labor. You won't know how it will be so don't stress about it now

Honestly I plan on 100% on getting one. I feel like it's more of a "fad" not getting one, or women feeling pressures not to get one. There are pros and cons of both getting one and not getting one but my thought process is "why should I be miserable during a day that should be one of the beat days of my life?" Why do I want to be in extreme pain just because someone said I should? If you're too exhausted from pain you can't push right so if you feel you need one, get one. It could really help you

I would like to skip it personally. But honestly if I can't do it then that's fine too. I'm not trying to have a set in stone plan. If I can make it without one hell yeah I'll be excited but if not that's okay too. Do what's best for you when it feels right. 😊

Our body's are made for birth, there is no women who physically can't do it without an epidural. Ofcourse it will be painful but it's better for both you and the baby to go without. There are other types of pain releif to take the edge off but I feel like it would be so empowering to do it naturally 😊

I've done it both ways and for this third I'm definitely doing the epidural again!! I am glad I had my daughter natural and able to experience natural birth. But my experience with an epidural was much better. I seemed to recover faster since I wasn't so exauhsted from laboring for hours and not being able to get rest.

Why don't you try to see how you handle labor before you even consider it? If you go into it telling yourself you'll need it, you'll probably psyche yourself out and give into the pain instead of working through it. Also, read about the side effects it'll have on both you and baby, you might find you are more willing to forgo it!!
