Sleeping in Bassinet

My LO is just 5 days old, and will sleep so well with my husband or I if  one of us is holding him,or we have him laying in bed close to our bodies. I don't want to form a co-sleeping habit, and really would like him to start sleeping in his bassinet next to our bed for 1-2 hours at a time. We've tried swaddling, and a pacifier but as soon as we lay him in the bassinet he seems to roll onto his side and start slowly moving into a cry. Does anyone have any tips/tricks that help?!
