Advising me to stop bteastfeeding?

Everyone i talk to is really surprised im still breastfeeding and they push to to give her just solids and formula. I know most people where i live dont breastfeed for too long but if i can why not? It's actually recommended to keep doing it. Has anyone ever pushed you to stop bteastfeeding?

I'm breastfeeding for at least a year... My little guy has solids once a day but his go to is the boob! Keep going strong.. The America pediatrics association suggest breastfeeding for 1 year, tell people that! Ps... Not to knock formula or anything but have you ever read the ingredients? I know it's perfectly fine for baby but I don't put things in my body if I can't pronounce them, not putting science in my little guys belly!

That's crazy! But I guess I work in the medical field where you get the opposite pressure. I'm going to breastfeed for the first year and in the meanwhile let him try baby food once a day ( he hasn't been a big fan so I hope that will change in the next 6 months lol)

But all in all you just need to do what's right for you and your baby. The only opinion that is worth considering is what your pediatrician's

Breastmilk or formula are really baby really needs for the 1st year. It is recommended to breastfeed up until 2 yrs. So like you say if you can go for it. I find too many people stick their noses in these days offering their 'advice' it's your baby you do what you're comfortable with.

I have never heard of anyone encouraging NOT to breastfeed. What's wrong with people.

My son had a milk protein allergy so I went on a dairy and egg free diet so that I can continue breastfeeding. I eventually got the hang of it and  also lost a little bit of weight, but it was difficult whenever we visit my SO's parents. His dad would tell my SO while I was in the room, "why don't you switch to formula so she can eat." I felt offended. My SO does not decide whether I breastfeed or not. And I lost weight from eating healthier, not because I wasn't eating. 😓

We are still breastfeeding and als9 doing baby led . Do what you want for your baby ... the WHO suggest up to 2 years. It tbh some babys self ween before then some don't there's a reason they have milk teeth up to about 5 or 6 lol

My grandma keeps saying I need to "stop that now and push the food" he's 7 months old and still not interested in solids and I'm not going to push it!! He will eat when he is ready and even if he was interested in solids,I wouldn't stop nursing.
