IUD??

Question

Okay, so I need some insight. I gave birth to my son 2 weeks ago and my fiancé and I are deciding what birth control to get after my 6 week healing period. We are leaning towards the IUD but don't know much about it such as how it's inserted and the side effects etc. So now I'm reaching out, if any of you have an IUD, what is it like? Does it hurt? I need some info please!

I have mirena and my periods were a lot what if imagine hell to be like for the first 6 months honestly. And it hurt like a bitch when I got mine in, like I could barely walk to my car (I've never had children tho and I wasn't on my period so my cervix was super tight so you shouldn't have the same problems)...but I'm at the 8 month mark now and I haven't had a period in a month and my period before that was like light spotting for 2 days. Knowing that it will be like this having little to no bleeding or cramps for the next 5 years honestly makes all the pain I went through worth it 100%...and I probly had one of the worst Experiances possible those first 6 months. I would do it over again in a heart beat to be where I am now so I guess it just depends on you and if you think it'd be worth it too (not that all women share my Experiances) hope this helped a little..IUD isn't for everyone but it's definatley the best decision I've ever made and I wish I did it a long time ago!,

I'd recommend a none hormonal iud (paraguard) there are no side effects that I have experienced, except a little more cramping during my period but nothing too bad. It's like it's not even there

I have the hormonal IUD and I LOVE IT it makes my periods wayy better, and they are eventually meant to stop after a few months. It is also one of the most effective forms of birth control. The insertion does hurt, not gonna lie, but I think it is totally worth it for several years of protection
