What are everyone's plans for babies first bday?

Yay! I've just started thinking about this. One thing we are going to do us hire a photographer! They can capture all the moments that we wouldn't be able to.

I saw an idea today which I love... Teddy bears picnic party. Going to do two. One for family and then another one for my friends who have young kids. Everyone brings a bear 💖

Probably just a small group of family/friends. Finger foods and cake. Will let LO have her own cupcake, normal size not giant. It's cool looking, but a waste I think. Simple decorations. But I am leaning toward the pink/gold colors for it 😊 I would like to get her a little tutu and onesie shirt that says I'm one or something 😀 crazy we are thinking about birthdays!!

We are party people. 🎉 As in kids parties haha - my nephew had pony rides at his first birthday so I don't know quite how to top that. 😉 Doing a STL baseball theme as my husband and his family are big Cardinals fans, and baby boy loves balls. There are 11 soon to be 13 second cousins aged 8 and under, so it will be fun (and crazy).

We're doing nautical theme, more anchors and whales and I think we're going all out, I didn't talk to my side of the family through my pregnancy so I think it's a way for both sides to come together to celebrate! I only had a baby shower with my fiancée family, it was a beautiful shower tho.

Actual birthday: just our little family of 3 and probably grandma and grandpa. Nice day at the park and a cupcake

Party Day: I think we are going to go all out- in terms of guests. My husband has a huge family! His father just passed away and this will be a great way for everyone to come together and celebrate in a happy way. They are all family that we would have invited anyway. Small dishes/summer BBQ food and cake/ice cream. NO bounce house or any of that big stuff. Maybe some fun yard games for adults (big yard jenga, beanbag toss, etc). Maybe a fun photo booth set up (my brother in law set one up for our wedding so it's free and fun to do to capture the day and get photos of everyone with Lucas).  I just want something fun and relaxing!

Hopefully by then we'll be in a bigger house and be able to have the party there, but if not it'll be in a pavilion at the local park. I'm thinking a ladybug theme. The place I'm getting the cake from does free smash cakes for 1st birthdays.

Doing just us (mom, dad & baby) on the actual day of. Might get a cake, might get a cupcake, depends on how I feel. The weekend after we're doing a small party, where kiddo will have a smash cake. Thankfully most of the decorations I've gotten are actually toys so they're going to get used more than once.
