I have been with my SO for a year and 3 months and we are expecting a baby together. I am 7 wks along. I am 27yrs old and scared to tell my parents because my father has always talked crap that children ruin your life. Today I came to visit and he was giving my cousin whom is a father to two kids a lecture that kids ruin your life and that your life is over and bye bye freedom. My cousin and I just made eye contact, as he knows but I don't know how or when to let them know as I don't see them having a good reaction. My dad has 13 grandkids (from my half siblings) and none from his current marriage (me and my brother) and he's ALWAYS embedded into me that he thinks theyre a burden and calls them dumb for reproducting, even if they are stable in every sense of the word.
