What do you put in crib?

I see all these posts of cute bumpers, pillows, toys, etc. in cribs. In my opinion, it all poses a huge safety risk.  Suffocation from blankets and bumpers does happen. Especially for deep sleeping newborn-4 month olds. 
All my daughter had in her crib was the mattress and tight fitting sheet. No blankets. She wore a zip up sleep sack. Will be doing the same for new baby. Just wanted everyone's opinions. 
I also believe that every parent do whatever they feel comfortable with. To each their own.

We did what you did with our first.. Just a sheet and a halo sack. Once he was a little older we got a breathable bumper so his little legs didn't get stuck between the bars.

Aside from a small stuffed dog he got when we has 6 around months old, our son did not have anything in his crib until he was over a year old. We'll be doing the same thing with this baby, better safe than sorry. I was so nervous the first night I gave him a blanket, I could barely sleep haha. To each their own though, what works for some doesn't always work for others.

All my son had was a sheet and a mesh breathable bumper. And the only reason he had the bumper period is because he moved around a ton, and I was constantly finding his little arms and legs between the bars.

I plan on just having a mesh/breathable crib bumper & a fitted sheet. I agree everything else is a safety issue.

My daughter had a bumper and a blanket.  But for this baby we won't use a bumper unless it's mesh.   And we didn't let our daughter have toys in there until 12 months, and after she fell asleep, I'd go in amd move them to the end of the bed.  And my daughter didn't use a pillow until 18 months when she moved to a toddler bed
