Any precautions I should take?

Take lots of pics? And make sure to keep baby away from litter. Otherwise I believe in raising babies with animals around.  It's so good for them to build up a strong immune system and helps with anxiety disorders when they are older (not that everyone suffers from them) if your not getting the kitty declawed though I would also WatchKit for the tail pulling that comes with any small child as they grow!

As with any pet, just don't leave them together unsupervised. A baby (and even a young child) does not know how to treat an animal gently and respectfully. This isn't their fault - they just need time to learn.

I'd also plan to keep baby's door closed and kitty out regardless of if baby is there or not. You don't need kitty thinking those toys are for everyone. ;-)

Make sure the kitten doesn't crawl in crib or bassinet with baby. They smell the milk (or formula) in babys mouth and lick it out and it can sometimes harm the baby. Not many cases of it but it has happened. Other than that I would just say watch kitty claws or clip them.

If it's an actual kitten id pay close attention.. Kittens play by biting and using claws. Otherwise it's fine.
