Why are people most defensive about Christianity?

Question

Scripture (the Bible) says this would happen (people hating Christianity) because people have the truth written on their minds but are blatantly choosing to deny it. Even though the Quran does not agree with homosexuality, Christians are often more hated and persecuted for holding to this belief. Do you think it's because people know in their Spurit that Jesus really is the way and truth and life and His loving truths are what make them defensive? Just wondering your thoughts. Please read my post before responding...

I don't really know how to word this but here it goes...

I think it has something to do with culture. A majority of Muslims are middle eastern, Asian, African etc. these are cultures where homosexuality is already frowned upon regardless of religion and in some Muslim countries it's actually illegal as opposed to countries where the primary religion is Christianity, homosexuality isn't illegal but it's not legally either so there is a level of tolerance despite it contradicting the religion... This made a lot more sense in my head so I hope you can understand the poor attempt of an explaintion I tried to provide.

Obviously I can't speak for anyone else, I mean there's probably no one reason but for me, where I live, it seems that Christians probably get more backlash for their beliefs on homosexuality because they're more vocal about it.
I'm not Christian or Islamic (or gay for that matter). I have no idea what the Quran says about it but I have another example.
I am a pagan witch, something which I've been told on many occasions I will burn in Hell for and all those people were Christian. Now I don't know what the Quran says about Witchcraft but given its an Abrahamic faith I'd guess it's not flattering but the point is despite knowing people who follow Islam I don't know how they feel about my beliefs because they keep their opinions to themselves. They may not agree with how I live my life but it doesn't affect them so they don't comment on it.
Of course i know you can't stereotype entire religions  (not that it stops people doing it) but my point is that you along with everyone else is welcome and entitled to believe whatever they want but when you voice beliefs that hurt other people you can't be surprised that people react.
Also I didn't vote because the poll options are so biased it defeats the whole point of it.

You have an excellent point in some of this. I don't follow any religion, but the Quran actually says the same about homosexuality as the bible does. The followings of both of the religions are actually similar in many ways. If you've ever taken a class on world religions, you should most likely know this. However, there's no right or wrong religion... No one truly knows what exists as much as they'd like to believe. Not every Christian follows everything in the bible just as not every Muslim follows everything in the Quran either. I think some people are just followers and are told to believe whatever some guy says on the news rather than doing research on it for themselves.

Christianity is not hated, but it is misunderstood. Many people call themselves Christians when they are being hateful towards people who are different. The bible says we should live our neighbor as our self, so why is it ok for the small percentage of "Christians" who are hateful towards others to represent the entire religion. I know plenty of homosexuals and I'm best friends with one and I'm Christiam. I also know many Christians who are fine with homosexuals. Just love everyone Christian, Muslim, budist, or not💕💕

you do have a point. liberal people are always the first to point out random bible verses and bring up bible teachings such as the ones against homosexuality, but are so quick to say not all muslims? and ignore what's written in their quran. it's literally THE SAME book... seriously. we just somehow expect all christians to be hateful and follow the bible, and expect all muslims are peaceful and only follow the good parts of the quran.
