Thrush???

Question

How do you know when its thrush? Do you scrub your babies mouth to see if the white stuff comes off or do you just wait and see? If you do brush, with what? Baby is 7 weeks and exclusively breastfeeds, she is also constantly spitting up.

My lactation consultant told me to use a wet washcloth to wipe out his mouth a couple times a day

And for your brushing question: they do have little brushes in the baby section. It looks like a thick finger cover made out of rubber with soft little rubber Brissels on it.

I was worried about that too with my daughter but turns out it was just milk on her tounge. When it's thrush her ped. Told me that if you try to scrape it off , it'll most likely start to bleed. He also told me that babies will not want to feed due to the soreness in their mouth. Contact your child's ped. They'll know what to tell you 😊
