I'm curious now! Otherkin?

Question

I got a great response to my gender identities poll, so I thought I would try this! Otherkin: real, mental disorder, or attention seekers?

For those who don't know, other kin are people who say they are some other being trapped in a human body. IE, demonkin believe they are demons, catkin believe they are cats, and some say they are fictionkin, which means they are a fictional character in a human body.
Some even claim to be Godkin

If they REALLY believe it, then it sounds like a type of schizophrenia. Otherwise I'd say attention seeking.

It is classified as a type of disorder. It's a social disorder, the closest thing I can relate it to is multiple personality disorder

Sounds kind of like kids that say "I'm a dragon!" Although most of them outgrow it around middle school. So I think it's normal if it's a kid or really young teenager, but if they're about 14 or older, I think it's either faking or a disorder
