Nail? In my tire?

Okay, I know I'm asking a car question on a women's health app but a lot of you are older and wiser than myself and you might possibly know what to do about this. There is a nail in my tire and my tire hasn't popped, it just has a nail lodged in it. Am I going to have to buy a new tire?? What do I even do right now? Thank you ladies!

You could probably get away with driving on it for a day or two. You can get the tire patched at any tire shop for cheap or free.

If the nail isn't in the side wall you can go to a tire shop and they will pull the nail out and patch it, if it's in the side wall you will have to get a new tire.

Do not take the nail out of the tire. Go to an auto repair place. There's a chance they can just put a patch on it. Or you will have to buy a new tire.

Go to an automotive store like and advance, autozone, or equivalent and buy tire plugs. The kit should come with the plugs and the tool to put the plug in. You only need one per nail, or future nails. If you feel it might be to diffult to do it yourself, ask an employee that works there.

Depends on where the hole is. Tires don't pop cause there isn't. Inner tube... It will just go flat. If it is in the middle of your tire it can be plugged, but if it's in the sidewall you will have to replace it.

Agree with these ladies, a new tire is around $90, but if it's in a certain spot, a patch will be $10-$15. Go soon tho, if it blows out youre SOL

You can patch it or plug it but my SO was a car technician and would recommend replacing it

You can see if it can be patched, but I've never been so lucky as to have the nail in a place that didn't preclude that. You will most likely need a new tire. Get it there before it goes flat.

If your tire isn't flat, and is just slowly losing air, I would suggest leaving it alone until you can get to a garage to have the nail removed and your tire plugged and/or patched.
