Custody

My ex whom I don't speak to at the moment wants to get 50/50 custody . as soon as the baby is born . he wants a whole week and me have a week and for us to pay child care on the weeks we have the child . I feel like going an entire week without a baby I JUST have is too much. Am I wrong ? He also refuses to pay child support, which he's not getting away with obviously . I just want to know how joint custody visitation usually is granted for these situations .
