Who does the night feed?

Just wondered out of interest. Do you think it's fair to be the one who does the night feed and goes to work or do you think the stay at home parent should do the night feed?

We both work full-time and I feel like it's unnecessary extra work to have my SO get up and get a bottle ready when all I really have to do is whip out a boob. My SO will get up and change our son's diaper but I take care of the night feedings.

My husband has a very stressful job so I don't ask him to get up at night. I know staying home with a baby is also stressful but I feel like it's my duty because he works hard to provide for me to stay home. He does get his time with her though (and changes lots of diapers).

Both should do the night feed because technically both 'go to work'. A mother's work at home is just as hard as a secular job outside, of not harder.

Mom because I breastfeed, but he wakes up and changes diapers and responds to the initial cries and brings baby to me.

If mom is a stay at home mom then she should be handling those night feedings during the work week. But maybe dad can help out before bedtime and take a night feeding on the weekend to give you a break

When my LO was still waking at night, I was BFing, so I didn't exactly have the option of having my husband do it.  He sleeps too heavy to actually wake up at night, anyway.

I have the boobs so I do most of the feedings. Dad gets up once a night to give a bottle. But I still have to get up to pump.

I wrote shared even though I'm exclusively breast feeding because my so gets out of bed to get him, check his diaper and he gets me water and snacks while I feed him.

It depends on how you're feeding the baby. Exclusively breastfed is a no brainer, if you pump as well, or formula feed then there's no reason for only one person to do the night feeds. It's all about teamwork here.
