Period!

Im 8 weeks PP and just got my first period after baby and it sucks! I breastfeed while at home and pump at work. Ive always been a light bleeder, even my postpartum bleeding was light and only lasted 2 weeks. This first period however has been anything but light plus TMI (i dont know of its normal or not) ive been getting vaginal cramps (only started after baby was born). My question is, has anyones period drastically changed after having a baby and then gone back to pre-baby or has your period changed forever?
