Does anyone else find giving birth in a hospital terrifying?

There have been some aweful stories I have read about the abuse and mistreatment mothers receive from hospital staff, and this just leaves me a wreck. I am super terrified of episiotomies most of all. I do not want to be cut and stitched!!!

I like the idea of a birth center birth, and am soon gonna call a center near me.

But I was wondering how everyone else felt about this? Are hospitals horrible? Some good comes out of them right??
