Pets- don't get them if you can't keep them

My biggest pet peeve is when someone gets a pet and then decides they don't have time for it. You should have thought about that before! If you weren't willing to take the time to train it then you should have left it where it was!

I live in an apartment complex that doesn't allow pets, like the majority of the complexes in my area. I can't even.tell you how many people complain when they get caught and are told they have to get rid of the animal or get evicted. or the countless ads I see of 'Moving and can't take our dog/cat with us'. My opinion is that unless you live in a place that allows pets or own your own home, then DON'T get one.

I agree Elizabeth- I also hate ppl that don't take the time w their pets and they are out of control and everyone else's problem if the pet is misbehaving

I'm more or less talking about people who get a pet then decided after a couple of months they can't handle it. Obviously if the owner passes it's a different story. And sorry for your loss.

Same as when they noticed after having a pet that someone of the family is allergic! Get tested!

But after seeing that post it does upset me that she's getting rid of that poor dog.

My post actually had nothing to do with the other user that posted on here. Mine pertains to mostly posts I've seen on fb. But thanks for your comments :)

I've got a house bunny, got him about 3 years ago and my baby girl is due in 5 weeks. I'd never get rid of my bunny. He's too precious to me. I cant even begin to imagine how someone can just get rid of their pet just like that. But then people are heartless.

Yesss!!! Do not committ to giving that animal a home for the rest of its life if you have no intention of doing everything in your power, at all times, no matter what for that animal.

Just saw a post about someone re-homing a new pup.It legit made me furious! Over her venting to my fiancΓ© about how terrible and how can people not love their furrbabies just like a child!

I typically agree. I re-homed my bunnies one time, because our place was so tiny and I was just young and in love with animals and had the mentality of "You're adorable. I love you. I'll adopt you." They went to a terrific home with a guy who was a carpenter and literally built them a home with a big enclosed play yard they could open for them at times. I hated myself for over extending myself and feeling like I couldn't give them the best home they deserved... I never would have sent them to a pet shelter though and I won't adopt animals now that I'm older that I can't keep. I just got in over my head.

But you learned and I respect that. This is mostly about posts I've seen on fb or I even saw one on here after I made this post that they just don't want it because they can't train it and they don't have time. Thank you for being responsible.
