Is this classed as abortion?

Question

A mother is pregnant and her fetus dies inside her. 
The doctors suggest she takes a medicine to decompose the dead baby to make it pass, or have it vacuumed out.

Is this abortion?

For the purpose of this question, let's say that a fetus is a baby.
Therefore, a dead baby would be a corpse.
And do you know what happens to corpses? They decompose. They rot, they stink, they bring infection and disease when they are not dealt with according to proper medical procedures. 
At this point, why wouldn't a mother remove the dead baby from inside of her?

In medical terms, yes it is considered abortion as all miscarriages up until 24 are considered spontaneous abortion (in some places the cut off is 22 weeks - after the cut off they are medically classed as still births). I think many people prefer to only use the term abortion for a procedure chosen by the woman to end a pregnancy but that's not strictly accurate.

If you mean abortion in the sense of the pro-choice/pro-life debat, then no, this is not considered abortion.

In medical terms it is called a spontaneous abortion, meaning it just happened spontaneously, not that the mother chose it.

If the fetus/baby is no longer growing/developing and there is no heartbeat. The body will start to decompose and that can cause serious health issues for the mother. She will need to make sure everything is cleaned out.
