Anyone have positive experience with induction with already being dilated?

I'm 4cm, 55%effaced. 40 weeks today and getting induced on Thursday. I Wanna know if any one else had been dilated when they started the pitocine and how long you where in labor for?

I was 2 cm when I got to the hospital and I tried to labor naturally, but after hours and hours, I wasn't progressing at all and was still 2 cm. They gave me pitocin and an epidural and 1 and 1/2 hours later, I was ready to push.. It was so quick!

I've had 3 inductions with pitocin, all 3 I was at least 2 cm and 50% effaced...as a FTM, my whole induction was 6.5 hrs start to finish...my second was 11 hrs (my labor was stopped by a nurse...long story...so my total induction was a lot longer than it should have been), and my 3rd was 2 hrs 51 mins start to finish.  Pitocin works wonders if you're body is already progressed a little.  Good luck!

With my first I was induced at 40.1 and I think I was 2-3cm and like 70-80% effaced. I went in at 7pm, pretty sure they broke my water first and did the pitocin at 8-9pm and my baby was born at 2:51am. I'm getting induced with this baby and I'm hoping it goes by just as fast and easy as my first.

Oh man I hope that it's quick for me. I check in for induction at 5:30am tomorrow. I'm only 1-2cm dialated and have been for 2 weeks now. I'm 40+3 and way ready. The dr was surprised he didn't come weeks ago because he's so low  I'm nervous this will take forever.  Wish in oils have my epidural now!

I was 4cm and 70% effaced when my induction started. It was 11 hours start to finish (second baby and second induction)

My first baby I was induced with a pessary at 2cms, the contractions started at 10pm and I had him at 02.08am, so only 4 hours!
