How is everyone's Dec baby sleeping?

Kelli • .

Just to be clear, I am not looking for a miracle sleep solution. I know some babies are not capable of sleeping for more than 5 hours straight for a long time, and it's likely my daughter is one of those babies, and I'm okay with that. But some babies are capable and if people can give me some tips that got them to that point, why not try?

Sometimes my girl will sleep 5 hours in a row and then awake every hour or more after that, some nights it's 6 or more wakings in a 9 hour span. I know I shouldn't complain because half the time she does sleep 5 hours (technically sleeping through the night) but I get a little jealous when I hear people say their baby starting sleeping 8+ hours very early.

I assumed every time she woke she was hungry so I fed her, but at about 3 months I tested that by giving her the pacifier when she woke and it worked great for 2 weeks when she only woke for the pacifier once or twice (she let's me know when she's actually hungry and won't accept the pacifier), then it turned to 6+ times a night looking for that stupid pacifier and I'm more exhausted then when she was night nursing. I've tried pacifier weaning but she's not having it. It doesn't help that she's rolling now but is miserable unswaddled, waking up hourly.

I'm sidecar-ing the crib tonight so that when she stirs looking for the pacifier I can pop it back in without getting up.

Anyone having more success that can share some tips? But like I said, I know that they might not work for my baby and I'm okay with that.
