Ok I really don't know much about stds and stuff (slowly learning now) but if a guy I'm interested in might have a hiv would it still be safe or OK if he wears a condom if I have sex with him?

They have suppression medication he can take, and coupled along with consistent condom use you can have a great, safe sex life living with HIV. Additionally, they have medication for partners who are HIV negative that will protect you even more. I work in public health be we essentially treat HIV as another chronic disease that, when managed appropriately, has extremely low transmission rates. Good for you for considering your options- definitely talk to your doctor for more details.

Sometimes it doesn't protect you even with a condom. I believe there is a disclaimer on condoms that says for the most part they protect but the chance still remains. I personally would not risk it. But obviously it's your call. Just be careful and talk to your doctor and gyno about how to be safest in a situation like that. ❤️
