When to tell at work, given there are no occupational hazards...???

I just dont feel like telling, but my bump is growing and is hard to hide.
On the other hand, i am chubby and have had a belly myself pre-pregnancy, just a smaller one, and i could sorta suck it in.

Agreed, I just don't want to tell work yet. I'm 13 weeks. The timing of my maternity isn't at all ideal. I know my boss will take it well, but I'm still hesitant. I feel guilty, even though I know I shouldn't. So far we've only told our families and a couple of friends. My husband is eager to tell others, but I'm not looking forward to it. Not sure why.

Does your employment contract say anything about when you have to tell them? Some do and if you don't tell them on time it can affect your rights to maternity leave and pay - I know my contract has a set deadline and if I don't tell them in the correct way before the deadline I can loose thousands in maternity pay. I'm also entitled to paid time off for antenatal appointments but only if they know. Don't tell them if you don't want to,  but check that keeping it quiet won't cause a problem later.

Telling a few people at work, now getting the following comments: to deal with:
THE GOOD: "how far along ate you? Like 7 weeks?"
 
THE BAD: "Why did you not tell till now? Why would you keep it a secret from people? How come you didn't want us to know?" - getting old to have to answer that...

THE UGLY: "what? 2nd boy? Aww you should have a girl, girls are better!" I say "but this is it we are only having 2" she said "oh u should try for the 3rd later so you could get a girl!" Wtf?!

I told my boss at 6 weeks because I had a lot of nausea and a big meeting. I told the rest of my team at 9 weeks after first ultrasound. They knew before family and friends.

I didn't want anyone at my job to know either, so I just told my manager, that way she could work with me around doctor's appointments
