Gun range?

Question

My husband and I are active gun range attenders. He's been dying to go but I'm nervous about going with the loud noise and being 12 weeks pregnant. I know the ears aren't fully developed until 27 weeks but still worries me. Have any of you ladies gone? What did you think?

My doctor has approved of me going hunting when about 35-36 weeks. I asked if it could damage the baby's ears and she said there is all the fluid plus your tummy the sound has to go through and to not worry about it. I am still pretty early along (12w today) but as long as the pregnancy goes along as healthy as can be, then they see no problem. Go have fun girl!

I wouldn't be worried about the sound, I'd be worried about the lead.

My husband and I were just talking about this last weekend. I plan on going here and there! We give up so much already being prego and I want to keep a lil fun in my life :). Plus after going threw the stomach, muscle, fluid etc etc I'm sure it's like us wear ear protection.

The noise shouldn't be an issue. I asked my Dr with my first (I don't remember what I was doing) And she said loud noises don't hurt the baby. She said she was front and center at a concert when she was pregnant.

I've always avoided shooting while pregnant because I worry about that, too. Liquids/solids conduct sound better than air, so if it would damage my ears I worry it could certainly damage the baby's.  If you can feel the sound, I wouldn't do it.
