Should birth control be sold over the counter?

Just like how Tylenol and Advil are. Why or why not?

No. I think it needs to be prescribed because of all the possible side effects... Your doctor needs to determine whether you're a good candidate for a birth control or not.

It's a bad idea. Birth control messes with your hormones, it can cause life threatening damage to you if you have certain risk factors and frankly, I know quite a few women who are not bright enough to be trusted to take it without having it banged into their head by a dr exactly how much and when. This is just a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I think No because i feel like you need to be monitored. Alot of it messes with hormones and i dont think people really understand how it effects them. Also i think drs help choose whats best for you, you cant belive everything you read online and thats where most people get their information from. My personal opinion.

No way. This app has proven how ignorant and reckless a lot of women are regarding their reproductive health. I def think a doc needs to dispense BC and make sure you're taking what's best for you. There's lots of side effects and other issues that can arise with BC use.

Absolutely.  I think it would benefit teens whose parents will not allow them to be on birth control.  Yet kick them out if they get pregnant. It's absurd.

No. There are certain precautions and warnings that need reviewed by your doctor. And what's safe for one woman might be unsafe for another because of interactions with other drugs or a medical condition. Did you know Depo can cause bone loss? Did you know smoking while on the pill is very dangerous? Did you know there are certain birth controls you can't take while breastfeeding?

You could end up taking the wrong dosage and it could really mess with your hormones. PlusOTC insurance isn't going to cover them anymore.

Nope. Many women shouldn't take BC, especially with high blood pressure. 
It also changes the hormones in the body...needs to be monitored by an MD.
BC is more involved than a Tylenol.
