Should I or should I not?

I am a 16 year old and I have never had sexual intercourse with a male or female. I have only masturbated once and stopped because: 1) it felt like a "guy thing" 2)I had no idea how and did not want to Google it.  My first question is: Is it beneficial for me to masturbate at this age? My second question is: How? and Do you have any personal tips?

Hi, I'm a 16 year old girl too. To tell you the truth, from my perspective, masturbation isn't all too beneficial. Though It can be really enjoyable if you can figure out what works best for you. Just so you know, masturbation is totally normal for girls our age, even if girls around your area tell you it's not, or if guys make you feel differently. It's simple human anatomy to have a need for sexual pleasure. Besides that point, there's a lot of ways to do it, stimulating your clit or by fingering yourself. I've definitely known some people to use foreign objects such as tooth brushes handles or even hairbrush stuff (I'd be really careful with all that weird stuff, unclean tooth brushes can lead to oral herpes, seen it happen) good luck, you're not alone.
