Paraguard anyone?

Who is or has been on this non-hormone BC? How did it go? How were your periods?

I really liked using the Paragard before my husband and I decided to try for a baby because it was non-hormonal. It's also very effective. It made my periods slightly heavier than before, but not terribly so. I will probably get another Paragard inserted in a few weeks now that the baby is here. Insertion is a little uncomfortable, but it's over quickly. I recommend the Paragard as an effective, long-term, non-hormonal birth control method. For me the heavier periods weren't bad at all.

I had it for 4 years and removed it to conceive my daughter, 3 months after removal we were pregnant. My periods were the same as with no birth control. Lasted for three days never had cramps. Don't let horror stories discourage you, it was completely painless putting it in and removing it. Took less than a minute.

I used paraguard after my first baby and I had no problems. My periods were about the same as no birth control. Since it had no hormones I was able to conceive right away. My OB is trying to get me to use the Mirena because it does have a small dose of hormones and can help with lighter to no periods but I think I will get the paraguard again

Following. I really want to use this in 4 weeks because I'm 32 with a history of cancer in my family and don't want the hormones. I really hope it's successful because we really want to enjoy our first for awhile before trying for a sibling.

I had the Paragard for 3 1/2 yrs then got pregnant WITH the Paragard still in place! I was lucky that the doctor was able to remove it and delivered a full term healthy baby 😀 
Also, my cousin's wife got pregnant with the Paragard in place, she's due in July but unfortunately she wasn't able to get hers removed. I pray for a healthy and uncomplicated pregnancy and delivery for her everyday. 
Now I just don't know what I'm going to do for BC because I chose the Paragard just for the fact that it was non-hormonal.

I had Paraguard for 9 months and bled almost the whole time it was horrible. I would bleed for 3 weeks and only get like a week without bleeding. I went back to the pill after that and that's what I'll use again.

Horrible!!!!! I had such bad periods.  They lasted 8 days and I'd go through a box of super tampons.  I had such bad cramps that I thought I needed to go to the hospital.  I'll never ever get Paragard!
