Tips on Avoiding a C-Section

Nicole
I had my 12 week appointment yesterday (I was actually 13+4 but measuring closer to 14 weeks). My doctor discussed with me that since my last baby was large, 9 1/2 lbs, and got stuck during delivery, that my odds of needing a c-section this time are pretty high. My first two were 6 lbs 6 oz (at 36 weeks) and 7 lbs 15 oz (40 weeks). All three were vaginal births with no tearing and no issues other than the last getting stuck a bit. I was told that I'd have a growth scan at 37 weeks and that would determine how I would deliver. He said he would only let me go to 39 weeks this time also (#3 was born at 40+6).
Obviously, I will do what is best for the baby as far as delivering but does anyone know a safe way to make sure baby doesn't get too big? I exercised several times a week, really watched what I ate and gained half the weight of my previous pregnancies and #3 ended up the biggest! I have no issues with gestational diabetes. I'm just getting nervous since it's been addressed at all of my appointments. Thanks for your input!
