Why do i always end up getting hurt?

I dont understand why I'm always the one to get hurt in a relationship. I've ways been the type to put the person I love before me. I make sure they are taken care of and are loved and I'm always there when they need me. Me and him were so happy when we first started dating. He even said he wanted to get married, have kids, and just grow old together. I felt the same way and this was the first time I actually felt happy and loved. He got a new job a couple months ago and I started to see less of him because he was literally working all day. He started going thru some things with his parents and even then I was there for him and I was his shoulder to cry on when he needed me. I noticed I started to see less and less of him and when I would ask him if I could see him he just couldn't make time to come see me even if it was only for 20 mins. So today It kinda came to a surprise because I asked him if he still wanted to be with me and he said "idk I just don't have time for a relationship right now" I had been asking him for the longest if he still wanted to be with me and if he didnt for him to tell me because i dont want to be that girl to get dragged along and end up hurt. I've been thru so many heart breaks I didn't expect this to end up the same. You know it really makes me sad and mad when I introduce someone I'm dating to my mom or my family. You have to be really damn special for me to open you up to my family. And then he tell me that if its okay with me he still wants to be friends with me. Its like how can I be friends with someone who I wants to be more than friends. I have plenty of friends I don't need any more but then again I don't wanna lose him in general. I just don't know what to do 😢
