Night Feedings
My little boy will be 6 weeks old on Monday and he is exclusively breastfed. At his 1 month appt the pediatrician said to still wake him for feedings during the night and not to let him go more than 4 hours. It wasn't an issue before because he was waking on his own, but the past two nights he slept from 7:30pm-1:00am before waking to eat. I hate to wake him because he doesn't sleep much during the day, so he needs good sleep at night. But I also don't want to just ignore the doctor. I don't know what to do. It took him a little bit longer to get back up to birth weight; however, the past two times he was weighed at the doctor he was gaining weight well. Does anyone wake their baby for night feedings? Any advice?
