Anyone purchasing the owlet?

I want to get the owlet to make sure the baby is safe

I'm definitely getting one because I know myself and I won't sleep because I'll be paranoid. This will give me a sense of peace and I think that alone is worth it but that's just my opinion.

My pedi said it's a total waste of money and all of his moms say it gave them false alarms. He said if you put them to sleep on their backs, make sure they aren't going to overheat with too many blankets, don't overdress them, don't use wedges, and don't put anything in their cribs, and don't co-sleep (unless you use an attachment), your chances of SIDS are very low.

I can't imagine it's any better than a professional grade pulse ox, and my daughter had one for a few months due to sleep apnea (she was also on overnight oxygen with a cannula). And that thing went off unnecessarily all the time. If she rolled too much, kicked it off, if her foot got too cold etc etc...We didn't have a choice and had to use it until she grew out of her apnea (which she was pre disposed to because if a genetic condition, so not something everyone has to worry about). In my opinion, I wouldn't spend the money for something else that may cause you to panic unnecessarily. Just put them to sleep safely, heading all the warnings and you should be fine.

I thought about getting one but just took it off our registry. Once the baby is here if I'm really stressing and think that'll help ease my nerves at night, then maybe. But would rather spend the almost $300 on other necessary items right now.

We have a snuza and it sure helped me with getting some sleep. One of my sisters passed from sids at 6 weeks old so I have always been super terrified of it. 
I think that as long as something doesn't harm your child and gives you some peace of mind, go for it.

I heard they work better on children over 3 months old before that they tend to have a good amount of false alarms. Im got it and plan to give t a try but if it gives too many false alarms I'll wait until after 3 months to really use it.
