Which brand/type of pads do you recommend following childbirth with the best absorbency and least amount of leaks? Thanks!

Always overnights. The long ones are the best but u won't need then for long. It will run down ur crack and miss the hole pad.

I would just be careful of the ones that have the extra absorbency chemicals if you have sensitive skin because they were really irritating to me after birth, really dried me out. I had to throw them away and get pain cotton ones.

Normal pads for heavy flow! Pregnancy pads are awful! Its like a brick of sponge!

I just used the regular always ones. Bought them at Costco in a 2 pack and didn't even use 1 whole pack. The bleeding was totally not as bad as I expected.

Target makes a great long super absorbency pad that is relatively thin, very long (this is key), and super soft. It is much like the ones you get in the hospital, but thinner and just as absorbent. Also, the best (IMO) perineal spray is New Mama Bottom
Spray (Amazon). Super easy to use and you don't have to rub anything down under! Just spray and go. It has witch hazel, cucumber and peppermint in it so it will help sooth and heal your hoo ha even if you don't tear. Also, you can by the perineal ice packs on Amazon that you get in the hospital. They're great for the days where you feel swollen or constipated!

Natracare maternity pads were comfortable and worked for me. After the first week, I switched to reusable cotton pads because the disposable ones trapped moisture and made me itch. Keep in mind that you'll be wearing them for weeks. After the heavy bleeding stops, you'll want something breathable over something absorbent.
