Clingy?

How do you guys define clingy? I'm currently seeing a guy who is really busy. He has a great career and is very successful for his age. However, we only text a couple times during the day (more on weekends), some weekends he's not free, and I kind of have been feeling that he will never ever make me his first priority? It seems like he's too into his job. today he brought up Dealbreakers and told me that he could never ever date someone who is unmotivated, not ambitious, someone who doesn't understand how busy he is bc they aren't busy themselves. It kind of felt like he was throwing a jab at me? I do work full time, it's a good job (but I definitely don't want to be there forever) and I'm currently studying for the LSAT on the side. Idk if I'm being too sensitive, if he didn't mean to throw a jab at me, or what. Idk if I'm being clingy. I really like him, but I really want someone who will text more, who will hang out with me on the weekends, who will be super warm and caring with me and who will make me his #1 priority.

The way I see it, we are all going to die someday. Say you go to work on Friday. You die Sunday. On Monday people at work will mourn you. But on Tuesday a job posting will go up looking for your replacement. But your wife, your kids, your family will remember you forever, they'll be unable to replace you, so why not give them time? Why not make THEM your first priority, and make your job second? Money is very important, but at what cost?

He has been single forever. Hasn't dated in years, just works works works. Idk. Just kinda bummed.

Honestly, it sounds like he may be single for a reason. If he doesn't want to give you the time you need to be happy, maybe that's a deal breaker for you! Being busy is ok, but being in touch is pretty important too. Does he check in at all during the week?

You don't sound clingy to me. I think it's pretty reasonable to want good communication and to want to be somewhat a priority, not thrown on the back burner. But honestly, this guy is single because he's emotionally unavailable- and physically, really. Typical of a workoholic. Sounds like what he wants is for you to just leave him alone and be "busy" and let him come to you when it's convenient for him, which is selfish. It's nice to have stability- a man that works and can provide but if you stay with him, don't expect more than that.

My life story. I'm clingy and need a certain amount of physical and emotional stuff and he doesn't give any of it. Haha. He doesn't talk. I jabber non stop.

I know plenty of men and women who are highly professionally motivated and balance work and relationships.  But a romantic relationship isn't the only connect I n to have and some don't want or need a sigular person with them all the time. My dad had a high pressure job and preferred only to see his gf on weekends. During the,week he saw,friends or clients but most weekends he devoted to her. She too had a demanding job. I prefer saying someone who has alot of time for me. There's nothing wrong with either case but if you need more than someone can give you'll be unhappy.

Find out what your deal breakers are. 
If communication and visitation is a must for you then he needs to know.  If he doesn't wasn't to invest the time then he should not be in a relationship.  Your needs matter just as much as his, just as your job is important as well. He can't have the perks of a relationship only when he wants them.  That is selfish. You do not sound clingy. You've got time,  move on girl and the right guy devote his time and energy to you as you would with him.  Life is too short.
