Asking to going onto the pill?

Question

Hi, 
So I am 20 and want to ask my doctor to go on pill for many reasons. The thing is my doctors surgery my hole family go to and I don't want my mum and dads doctors to look it up and tell them I am on it. Also I just feel scared to asked him as he is a male but I have b12 issues do don't know if this would affect being on the pill?!
Advice please?

I'm from Sydney and I can tell you know that none of our doctors are legally allowed to discuss your medical records or any of your doctors visits with anyone who is not you, this includes family, partners and in most cases other doctors.

If you're still concerned because you're seeing your families doctor, try going to Family Planning or Sexual and Reproductive Health clinic. I'm not sure where in Perth you are, but there is a sexual health clinic at 70 Roe St, Northbridge WA. So I hope that helps.
If you google sexual health clinics near you should find something.

They can prescribe you birth control either free of charge or very cheaply depending on your personal income, and like GPs, the doctors and nurses there are legally not allowed to discuss your visits there with anyone except you.

I'm a nurse.. and I can assure you that by law, we are not allowed to give out any information on a patient with out their consent once they have reached 18 years of age..

They cannot tell your family any of your medical history without your permission. If you are still worried, you can go to planned parenthood or any family planning clinic.
