What do you all think about being on birth control and being married.

I don't agree with being on birth control and I'm married.  But my husband wants me to get on becaus he doesn't want another kid for a few years. But I totally disagree.  I feel that if I do I'm blocking the blessing that the lord wants to give us. I believe in faith and that God will give bless us when he knows the time is right.

If your husband doesn't want another baby then I feel you should both be preventing it until you have come to a mutual decision to have one. If birth control is against your religion it should've been discussed before marriage and perhaps you can use other methods to prevent pregnancy until you are both ready.

If couples aren't on the same page about children or amount of children it will cause a strain on the relationship not just financially. That's your belief system and you're entitled to your opinion...as is your husband. You ask what do we think about being on it while married? Personally, I think it's smart. I think God gives us free will and we were created with the power of reasoning and making decisions in our lives...I'm not at all on board with..."well let's have sex without protection and if God wants it to happen then it must be his will"....negative....it's like driving a car and not installing brake pads "If is God's will the car will stop".

I'm catholic but I use protection. My uncle has 8 kids. One has special needs. It's not worth it. They struggle sooo much and I feel so sorry for them. 
When I'm ready to have a child i will decide with my husband. 
I want my children to not suffer and have a blessed life. And if that means wearing protection then I will. 
Having said that, if I did get pregnant I wouldn't get an abortion. 
But everyone is different and if it makes you and your husband happy why not. 
But I'm sure God would want you to put your current family first.

I'm not judging you, but the way you look at it doesn't necessarily make sense to me. My husband and I have sex almost every day. So if I wasn't on birth control, I would have a super easy chance of getting pregnant. We have a 9 month old and want to wait a couple of years before we have another one. If I wasn't on bc then I would probably get pregnant today. And then after that baby was born, I could get pregnant in 2 months. Unless you want a ton of kids it only makes sense to use some form of bc.  And condoms or pulling out adds way more stress than hormonal birth control

If you don't want to use hormonal bc you can try charting your cycles with fertility awareness/sympto-thermal method. I'm married and recently got off of hormonal bc and we've been successfully avoiding pregnancy while simultaneously learning about our fertility at the same time so that when the time is right we will be thoroughly prepared to conceive. And   Since there's no external hormones blocking ovulation, we could possibly get pregnant at any time in the month if it is meant to be, but used correctly there's like a 95% effectiveness rate, leaving 5% chance of conceiving every month. For me that's the highest chance I've ever had of getting pregnant since I've been on hormonal bc most of my sexual life but I like the increased probability bc if it's meant to be it will be.

I believe that God gives us wisdom to know when is and when is not  good time to bring life into the world. I believe that if I'm not able to provide for a child, I probably shouldn't have one. I was on birth control for this reason when I got married. I ended up not being able to use hormonal birth control because no matter which method I used, it made me sick. So we aren't using anything. At this point I believe that if I do end up pregnant, God will provide. 
But yeah,  I can't use birth control.  But for the most part,  I am not against it

Not to be mean or anything but if that's how it worked why do people always make jokes about Catholics having so many kids due to the fact that they don't believe in bc. Nature doesn't always follow what we believe. There is nothing wrong with your belief or that you don't want to use bc but unless you want a ton of unplanned children bc is a good idea

If one of you is pro-birth control and the other is anti-birth control, that sounds like an "oops" pregnancy and a huge argument in the making. I wouldn't risk it, especially if he has asked you to consider birth controls. If another pregnancy results from this, he may feel "trapped" and want a way out. I'm sure the last thing you want to be is pregnant and getting a divorce.

I would just use condoms or the pull out method. Neither of those are very effective 😂 If God wants you to have a baby and you're on birth control he can still give you that baby.
