I'm just gonna jump into this because I don't know where to start.

I'm 16 and joining the National Guard. My parents are mostly okay with it. (My mother says it's not the plan she had for me and my father thinks that it's awesome) I'm already talking with the recruiter associated with my school, he has explained pay, training, life, jobs, etc. to me and I love the idea so I plan to sign up when I'm 17. (Next January) My boyfriend, however, is very hesitant about the idea of my decision. His father was never there for him (He never met his father) and he was KIA. I don't want to make a decision on how he feels about the military. I don't want to say no to the Guard but I don't want to hurt him at the same time. I'm not entirely sure what to do. Any suggestions? If y'all have any questions, feel free to ask.
