Look it up and you'll find some great advice online. I learned to start bathing with the baby early on so they're not afraid once they get in the pool. I'm planning to take my little one once I stop bleeding, so probably around 6 weeks.

We are starting swim lessons at 3 months but will be doing our first vacation at 2 months so baby will be in the water.

My step daughter is horrified of water because her mother never introduced her to it.. she's 6 and I have to pin her down to wash her hair.. still.. I'm bout to shave the child's head lol. So I say the earlier the better especially if you have a summer baby. I'll be starting my LO just as soon as I'm healed enough to get into a pool

Also, if you are going outside to swim, I think the recommended age for sunscreen is 6 months!

It also depends on the temperature of the water. We have some nice pools for babies that are super warm. But regular pools they may have a hard time regulating their body temperatures. I would stick to 5-6 months so that they can also hold their head up on their own.

I took my son at 6 weeks & he loved it. Some people say wait til first vaccination but this time round I will just go as soon as it feels right as all the advice I read said you don't have to wait. He loved being in the water & still does. It's never to soon I don't think.
