Will shaving at 35.2 weeks affect my group b strep test and result?

I have my test next week and really want to shave because after reading my hospital's 36 weeks pregnancy guide, they said not to shave after 36 weeks, not sure why. I'm 35.2 weeks.

I can't imagine it affecting a thing. Ill be shaving up until birth.... Can't see a damn thing lol but still shaving!

My hospital says nothing about that. I plan on shaving right up until. Doc hasn't mentioned anything.

Weird!! I've never heard of this!! 
Random side note, when my mom gave birth to us, the hospital shaved her!!

I can see the point with infections and cuts. And really is a natural thing.

But never heard of this in Canada!

Thanks ladies.....shaved two days ago and it feels awesome. Here is a pic of my pregnancy guide about not shaving at 36 weeks. Like pp said, it might have to do with infection.

I don't see why it would effect your test... As for the shaving, I seen a lady comment on here (supposedly a nurse!) saying they don't recommend shaving because it causes risk of infection. Seeing how you can get knicked or cut.

I don't think it'll affect your group b test. And I'd say if you want to shave do it before you hit 36 weeks if they don't want you to shave after the 36 week mark.
