Gynecologist!?

Sorry if my spelling is off! Tomorrow I have an appointment for the gynecologist and it's my first time. I'm mainly going to get put on birth control. I don't know what to expect, can some people please share your experiences?

When I went I filled out paper and then they took me into a room and told me about the different types of birth control and which I would prefer, no touching involved

They may or may not do a pelvic exam
 If you aren't sexually active they probably won't but if you are they might.
They have you put your legs on these foot pedals and they put a speculum up there it's like a duck bill and it opens you up and they take a sample it's all lubed up so it shouldn't really hurt maybe be uncomfortable
She will also put her fingers in to feel your cervix.
It was awkward but it didn't hurt me.
