Dietary people, please help.

So for 3 months straight I've had nothing but water to drink. Recently I came down with a terrible stomach flu and the doctors ordered me to drink Gatorade to replace my electrolytes.. So I drink 2 32 ounce bottles of G2 a day plus water.. Someone told me today that I might as well be drinking 4 sodas and forget I ever even started water... Is this true? Did I really screw myself up???
