Jogging stroller: is it worth it?

So y'all, I need the skinny on jogging strollers. They look clunky and heavy and impractical to me. I don't run but my husband does and he's requesting we get a jogging stroller. I just see the jump in price from a normal stroller to that and I can't justify buying one just so he can run with our baby! Anyone have one and can give me the pros/cons? Can he run with a normal stroller? Is it really all that different from a normal stroller? Any advice would be appreciated!

The first thing on my baby wish list was a jogging stroller. Three months to go, and I already have one! I can't think of the brand right now, but it is very lightweight and compact. It was also one of the cheaper options, but got great reviews. In my opinion, there are so many benefits to taking the baby jogging, and buying a jogging stroller is very well-justified. It will be a bonding experience for your husband and baby. It will allow him to maintain his fitness while also introducing and active lifestyle to the baby at a young age. It is also a way for him to take the baby off your hands when you need a break, possibly even putting the baby to sleep! You can't jog with a regular stroller because the wheels are too small. If you can only afford one or the other, a jogging stroller would be more versatile.

We bought the Graco relay performance jogging stroller and I love it! It has options to turn it from being a normal stroller to a jogging stroller and it is so convenient. It has brakes and shocks so it can easily go through grass, rough terain, gravel, or just on the road. 
We are due in august so we haven't gotten to try it out with our daughter yet. But I am only 4'10 and maneuvered it easily. So even though it's big, it is not too big for me! And my husband loves it too!

I have a jogger and it was EXPENSIVE!! But I run and use it often. Love it! This one has some off road tires and suspension! Lol! In case baby wants to go off-road!

I have a bob dualie and I love it!! I've had it for 5 years. My 6 year old still fits in it. It's a dream to run with. I can get it in and out of the car no problem and there is only one store I don't like taking it in. I've never had a problem fitting it through doors.

I'm probably going to buy another bob for this baby.

That's something you don't have to buy new and can save lots of $$ if you opt for a used one in good condition. I found a really nice jogging stroller on one of the local yard sale pages on Facebook for a STEAL.

I have one and love it. The other ones with the tiny little plastic Wheels don't do well on a lot of services. My jogging stroller is lightweight, folds easy, spins on a dime and can go over all types of terrain

The stride is way different on a regular stroller. I'm 5'9 and I have a long stride, so the jogger is best for me. I've nannied and when walking them, I constantly kicked the wheels and was miserable. I will be opting for a jogger, but I will also get a smaller light weight regular stroller for when baby is slightly bigger. Like a jeep stroller.

Do not run with a regular stroller. I loved jogging with my jogger. I actually had a double jogger for my boys. The joggers lock properly for runs where as regular strollers don't.  It's great for all types of flooring/roads/paths as well...

I have both. I cannot run with my normal stroller unless the whole way is paved cement. It's too bumpy otherwise. My jogging stroller has wheels like a bike. Much smoother like an actual bike. However I would never put my jogging stroller in a car. It is waaaayyy to heavy for me. If I had to choose one. I'd pick the regular because I can put it in the car. If you do jogging just make sure you can lift it in the store.
