Water for Enfamil Powder Formula?

Hi moms!

FTM here with a 6 day old newborn. We're giving LO breastmilk and some bottled formula while my milk comes in.

We're planning on switching to powder now and I'm so confused as to what kind of water to use with the Enfamil Powder. Is bottled water (Sparkletts) safe to use or is there some kind of special "nursery" water I should use instead?

I give my son the Gerber Purified Water, it's 1$ for a Gallon at Walmart! He's on Enfamil Gentlease Powder

I wouldn't buy special water, just boil tap water and wait until it cools down

Most doctors recommend just using a water that has been purified. Whether it be distilled water or boil the water in a kettle and keep it in a jug. We did the kettle boil and worked just fine.

I use purified water.  I don't buy the infant water because store brand purified is the same thing really.  I use it at room temperature too.  My girl won't drink warm bottles, and this is much easier anyway!  Doctor said it is fine.

If you are giving formula in between feeds it will decrease your supply. Should be offering breast every 2-3h day and night to establish a supply that will meet baby's needs long term.

We use a Brita filter on tap water

Regular water is fine. We use the fridge water and then mix it..and then heat the bottle up in a bottle warmer...but it's because our local water isn't the best. If you are using tap water, just make sure it is warm..not too hot. Just make sure you follow the directions on the formula container. I know when we used enfamil it was 1 scoop per 2 oz of water.

I'm sure any purified water would be fine! My mom used tap water for me and all my siblings and we never got sick, as did most of my family. I myself used nursery water for my little one and when I wasn't at home or ran out of water I just used a bottle of water that was purified.
