Breast feeding vs bottle so daddy can feed too?
For moms breast feeding, do you ALWAYS feed via breast or do you also pump and feed via bottle?? My husband loves feeding time as he says it's a great early bonding experience. I agree. But also don't want baby to take a bottle, and then refuse the boob.see, we had our twins at just 29 weeks. they were fed my breast milk, with their "G-Tubes" and then a bottle once they were able to feed. They were born via EMER-Csection at 29weeks. So I pumped around the clock. Literally. Every 45 min. To ensure I got and kept my flow going for 2 babies. They we're in the Nicu for three months. After two months of g-tubes I did try to feed via breast.many times. Except we had a terrible time with latching.and when they did latch we didn't know how much they were actually getting. And being that they were just three pounds we needed to make sure that they were eating enough to eat and growing. So I just continued to pump and bottle feed, and we kept track of how much they were eating. ****BUT**** this time around I would like to try to feed via breast. (If no complications arise like last time) But also via bottle so daddy can feed as well. Are there any special nipples/bottles that are better than others when it comes to this situation? Any suggestions? Personal stories that are similar? I just dont want to cause baby confusion. All thoughts and opinions are welcome!
