Cindy

At 41weeks I had my non-stress test at the midwife's office and it was reactive enough but I was not dilated and about 70% effaced. After talking to my midwife I knew I did not want to go up to the hospital to have an OB who had never met me decide if I could have an induction or they could just send me for a rcs. I refused to go to the hospital at that time to try to induce at home.

The midwife gave me instructions on some natural home induction methods. I woke up the next morning very motivated. I prayed then started the induction process at about 7 am. I started to feel like something was changing about 11 but I knew it was not true labor, I called my Doula she told me to eat lunch and continue the circuit and call her back. I had a small sandwich and got back to work.

At 12:30 I was having full on contractions and was getting excited. I called my husband to come home. By 1:30 I was no longer excited because my contractions where coming fast and hard, much more then my first labor. My husband called my Aunt and she was there at 2:30 she timed a few contractions and then called the doula. We had a 30 minute drive to the hospital. My doula called the midwife and they had me go to the office to be checked since I had only been in labor 2 hours. We got to the office about 3:15, the midwife was waiting for my and checked me I was so relieved when she said I was 7 cm dilated. They sent me to the hospital, my Doula was waiting with a wheelchair and rushed me to the birthing suite. The midwife was filling the tub the nurse started a hep lock and put the monitor on all while I was contracting. My doula started giving counter pressure to my sacrum and that was awesome!!! I could handle contractions so much better once I had that counter pressure. I was able to get in the tub and relax much better between contraction and they kept that counter pressure on my sacrum with each contraction. It was not long before the midwife asked if I was feeling like I needed to push and I said yes. So after three pushes they said I was moving her down great and it would not be long until late I would meet my baby girl. A few more pushes my water broke and they said baby was right there after 1 more push they saw sweet girl was face first. So the midwife said we had to get out of the tub and the nurse stared calling for OB and nic-u the midwife and the doula helped me to the bed and then 2 more pushes and she was here at 5:58.

Holding her in my arms was so amazing, I was so in love in that very second.

I would recommend all natural over a repeat section to anyone it was so much better and the recovery has been so easy compared to recovering from a section.
